The
surprising thing about Antica Venezia
is how tranquil it is. Even though
it's situated in NYC's super trendy
Meatpacking District and has such
high-powered neighbors as Nicole
Kidman, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen,
Leonardo DiCaprio and Hugh Jackman,
the hotspot has the elegant appearance
of a classic restaurant in Venice.
Adding to the feeling of dining
in European canal is Antica Venezia's
perfect location-it sits on the
edge of the Hudson River and has
spectacular views, particularly
at sunset. But it's the magic of
the food that transports you to
Italy-without buying a plane ticket!
Chef Franklyn Patrice's cuisine
is mostly regional Venetian (which
is lighter and more delicately
flavored than most Italian food),
but he also prepares Tuscan and
Neapolitan dishes. Owners Alex
Selimaj and Gianni Goci have been
in the restaurant business most
of their lives, and they know exactly
how to please their guests. As
Goci says: " We're the only
place in manhattan that serves
a combination of three different
pastas on one plate" |
